We welcomed in the new year by also starting our wedding season!! The earliest for us thus far.
Terry and Julia's wedding was definitely one of a kind and set a very high bar for other weddings to follow. It was great to be able to witness and capture such beautiful souls solidifying their life long commitment to each other. Of course, there were tears and laughters throughout the ceremony and the rest of the day. I must comment on how amazing their bridal party were, they were all so much fun and alive!!
The day started out at Courtyard hotel in Chinatown Oakland. Julia was set with her timeline and schedule while Terry enjoyed her peanut butter and jelly sandwich in private. Parents, family, and the bridal party were all present, getting ready. Although, there were a lot happening, everyone was at ease and just enjoying the moment. We captured Julia's mom and maid of honor assisting her with the dress and accessories. Julia wanted to surprise her father so mom and Terry brought him in with his eyes closed. When he opened his eyes and saw Julia, it was the sweetest moment.
Terry had her mother and sister helped her with her dress and accessories. Mom was super cute watching Lena gently putting on Terry's necklace. You can tell how close the trio are. I thought the most beautiful moment was when Lena (sister) wiped off lipstick mark off of Terry's tooth, with her finger!! Thats real love right there!!
The ceremony was held at Endoff Memorial bandstand aka Lake Merritt. It was such a beautiful space, enough seating for 100 people to witness the beautiful union of Julia and Terry. Although, it was a bit chilly but I thought it was all worth it. Guests came in jackets and coats which made the wedding even more eventful. Luckily, Terry and Julia set up tents to hide themselves from guests. I was able to catch a glimpse of Terry going over her vows. As the sun was setting, the bride and bride sealed off their ceremony with a kiss and danced down the aisle. The party was just getting started...
Preservation Park are one of those hidden wedding gems of Oakland. The Nile hall had high ceiling and was super spacious enough to house 100 guests, a huge dance floor, and more. Each guests had their own personalized menu with their names on it - CUTE!!
While everyone was on the floor dancing with one another, a brass band came out of nowhere and walked in playing music!!! It was Terry's surprise for Julia and oh boy!! was she surprised!!!
We would like to wish Terry and Julia a lifetime of happiness and cheers to your next chapter!!
