The last time I saw Candy in person was in 4th grade. Who would have thought that I would see her again on her wedding day? and in New Orleans?!! What an amazing city to get married in!!
James and Candy flew us out to New Orleans to capture their destination wedding. Their wedding was nothing less than amazing. We started our day out at their hotel. Candy and her entourage turned her room into a florist department and it was all hands on deck. Team work make the dream work right? There were a few tears from Candy because she was just overwhelmed with the display of love from her people. When I shot James getting ready, this guy was in a great mood. He looked amazing in his blue suit. The hair, the beard, and the tiny Star Wars cufflinks was pretty bad ass.
As we prepared for the wedding ceremony in the middle of Jackson Square, curious tourists started lining up around the site. It was a short and simple ceremony but still very festive. The Brass Band then met everyone at the gate.
Live music and street dancing is definitely apart of the New Orleans Culture. Every guests were given white handkerchief to wave as they march. James and Candy had their whiskey bottle and they were ready to party. The lovebugs danced in front, in the middle, and in the back of the line. At one point, James was wearing Candy's veil on his head, totally awesome for that! We ended the parade at their reception location. It was a time for everyone to catch up and mingle. The cake cutting turned into a cake smashing event between James and Candy and ended up with them two kissing, super cute! I can't tell you just how amazing these two loving souls are. It was such an honor to shoot such wonderful people on their special day.
